Prerequisite: ECE 632 and 633.
Description:Introduction to secure data and voice communications. Topics include theoretic basis of cryptography, random cipher systems, practical security schemes, linear and nonlinear shift registers and encryption algorithms, block encipher and NBS data encryption standard (DES), public key cryptography, RSA, knapsack algorithms, digital signatures and authentication, security of computer networks, cryptographic protocols, key management, speech security, and voice scrambling.
