Description:This course provides an introduction to mobile communication system design and analysis. Topics include modeling of the mobile communication channel, signal set and receiver design for the mobile communication channel, access and mobility control, mobile network architectures, connection to the fixed network, signalling protocols for mobile communication systems. Examples of mobile communication systems will be presented, including the pan-European GSM system, the North American D-AMPS system, and Personal Communication Systems.
