Description: Introduction to the theory and applications of modern satellite communications. Topics include satellite channel characterization, channel impairments and transmission degradation, link calculations, modulation, coding, multiple access, broadcasting, random access schemes, demand assignment, synchronization, satellite switching and onboard processing, integrated service digital satellite networks, and satellite transponder, ground stations, packet switching, optical satellite communications.
