This release of the DRAGON software includes a novel and stable path computation algorithm as part of the Path Computation Element (PCE). This has the capability to perform intra- and inter-domain for multi-layer Traffic Engineerd (TE) Label Switched Path (LSP). It considers vlan tag and wavelength continuity constraints.

The PCE uses Channel-graph and K Shortest Path (KSP) for multi-layer path computation to enhance the network scalability and save computational resources and processing time in PCEs. The common vector method is used to solve the generalized label continuity constraint in hybrid networks. Other functions for PCE include domain topology abstraction, LSP scheduling and management, etc. The VLSR and PCE software is available for downloading.
