Prerequisite: ECE 542 and 528.

Description:Open Systems Interconnection Reference Model, analysis and modeling of layered network architectures including transport and higher layers, performance evaluation of System Network Architecture (SNA), DEC Network Architecture (DNA), and other telecommunication architectures; protocols and standards for local, metropolitan, and wide area networks. Topics include high speed packet switching, broadband multimedia protocols, and congestion control in broadband integrated networks.
